Ophir PR is a London based boutique PR, communications and media relations agency for the hotel, travel and tourism industry. Ophir’s focus is to cultivate bespoke PR campaigns for clients; the company’s scope ranges from developing small PR projects to much larger, full range PR planning. Claire Griffin Executive Director

With over 25 years of working in the media on both the PR and media side Claire knows everyone! Claire provides planning and strategy guidance across accounts.

Claire Griffin has a degree in Law and American Studies from Middlesex University, London. Her first job was in journalism working on The Chester Chronicle & Evening Leader, before entering the world of public relations in 1990. Her first PR role was at one of the UK’s biggest PR agencies called the Grayling Company. For over 3 years she worked on big brand accounts including Mars. This was followed by 4 years as an Account Director at Barclay Stratton PR working on travel clients such as Jamaica Tourist Board and Oasis Forest Holiday Villages.

After 4 years at Barclay Stratton, Claire left the UK to follow an opportunity to work in Sydney, Australia as Communications Director for one of Australia’s leading law firms, Allen’s. She returned to the UK in 1998 to run and develop Columbus Communications, sister company to ZFL (now named PRCO). Claire was charged to grow Columbus’ business, which she did, and ran the PR agency as Account Director for just under 5 years. The accounts she looked after included: Four Seasons Hotels Worldwide, Mediterranean Experience, Cap Juluca in Anguilla, Rome Cavalieri Hilton, 51 Buckingham Gate, London and Dolce Vita Villas in Italy.

Alexandra Delf Associate Director

Alexandra is Associate Director at Ophir PR and also a qualified barrister. After deciding to pursue her love of languages and travel, she worked abroad in Italy and Australia on the planning and management of events. This experience allowed her exposure to a wide variety of international clients and she subsequently developed a creative and progressive approach to communications. Always eager to explore, her curiosity and passion for travel and ongoing mission for ‘La Bella Vita’ has led her from ski festivals in the Italian Alps to excursions through the metropolitan jungles of Japan and Hong Kong, finally culminating in her enthusiastic arrival in the Ophir office.

Alexandra is a luxury travel PR specialist with broad international experience including the launch of award winning new hotel brands, promoting hotel, restaurant, spa and design clients throughout key consumer and trade sectors as well as engaging and advising on social media influencers and strategy. She oversees the day to day running of accounts and is a talented writer and speaker on social media and blogging. Alexandra also maintains strong relationships with media, affiliate & industry partners whilst also supporting the team with creative pitching.

Isabelle Thomas Account Manager

Isabelle graduated from The University of Bristol with a degree in BA English and then enrolled onto the graduate scheme at a large London-based integrated communications agency in the Property PR team. Isabelle stayed there for two years, developing her skills in communications and working on a range of clients including international luxury property developers. 

These clients provided Isabelle with the opportunity to travel across Europe on various site visits, launches and press trips. Isabelle fell in love with this aspect of the industry and enjoys experiencing everything different cultures have to offer, which has led her to Ophir PR. With an Australian passport, Isabelle had travelled to the other side of the globe more than ten times before she was two years old but has never lost that thrill of touching down somewhere new.

Hannah Watters Account Manager

Hannah is a graduate from the University of Edinburgh, where she studied Italian and History of Art (MA Hons) graduating in 2016 with a 2:1 and a Distinction in spoken Italian. She spent a year abroad in Rome, developing her deep passion for the language and Italy’s great artistic and cultural heritage and studied at the University of Roma Tre. Hannah is an avid traveler, having travelled extensively around Italy and continues her childhood love for skiing in the Italian Dolomites, Switzerland and France.

Hannah is a keen linguist, being fluent in Italian as well as studying French at A-Level and Spanish as an outside course at University. In addition, she is a keen writer and has founded her own online art and culture magazine and has contributed to the Student Newspaper in Edinburgh.

Alice Thomas Account Executive

Alice grew up in Germany, Hong Kong and New York, as well as spending a year studying at Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Alice completed an internship at M&C Saatchi PR’s London and Paris offices followed by a permanent role at London Consumer PR agency, Aduro Communications, developing creative campaigns for various consumer brands including Whole Foods Markets.

Alice is passionate about travel and has a wealth of knowledge in the F&B sector in addition to luxury travel.

Eleanor Trefusis Junior Account Executive

Ellie recently graduated from the University of Exeter where she studied Drama, which has inspired her interest in communication and creativity. Ellie has travelled extensively from a young age, and her highlights include discovering natural waterslides and pools in Brazil, hiking through the Rockies and Alps and up glaciers in New Zealand, and travelling through South-East Asia. Ellie also worked as a Children’s Ski Club Assistant for a luxury tour operator on her gap year, instigating her interest in luxury travel.

Ellie has a strong heart for social justice, which inspired her to volunteer in a children’s village for orphans in Durban, South Africa and undertake a Creative Arts Internship in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where she used drama and art therapy to help children to begin to heal from their experiences of human trafficking. These encounters have provided her with a deep knowledge of the way that countries function behind the scenes, and have generated an interest in responsible tourism.

John Maiden Finance Manager

In addition to providing general assistance to the office, John undertakes all company financial functions. John is a Chartered Accountant and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree.
